Galerie Eva Hober EXHIBITS REBECCA BOURNIGAULT’S COSMIC WANDERINGS
For her first exhibition at Galerie Eva Hober, from January 25 to March 2 2018, Rebecca Bournigault has created a unique installation comprised of 30 videos and 3 sculptures, all of which were created especially for the show.
Finding inspiration in the Vedas, the sacred Indian texts that are the basis of Hinduism and which explore the relationship between man and the cosmos, Rebecca Bournigault has recreated a whole universe in the gallery, one in which microscopic and macroscopic worlds coexist.
Three projector-sculptures echo the themes that are the subject of Rebecca Bournigault’s investigations: nature and the human body.
These ‘totems’ project the artist’s vision onto the gallery’s walls, floor and ceiling in ‘Constellation’, an immersive installation presenting gathered moments that reveal our relationship with the natural world.
Rebecca Bournigault silently wavers between the pertinent distance she places between her camera and a solitary landscape and sensual close-ups of skin, between an image of an almost lifeless location and the modest portrayal of the intimacy of a body in movement.
This exhibition at 156 Boulevard Haussmann is an opportunity to immerse yourself in Rebecca Bournigault’s cosmic wanderings, until March 2 2018.
