DISCOVER ECHO WANTED, THE NEW GROUP EXHIBITION AT Galerie Karsten Greve
Karsten Greve Gallery presents EChO wanted, a group exhibition organized by Judith Greve on the theme of the environment, that will take place from May 17th to July 12th, 2008.
This exhibition was born of an intimate preoccupation and a will to react to the themes of pollution and the degradation of our environment, but also of a desire to reveal the work of a certain number of artists who will be exhibiting for the first time in France and at the Karsten Greve Gallery. The exhibition presents the works of ten artists: Adam Broomberg & Oliver Chanarin, Lynn Davis, Bright Ugochukwu Eke, Dustin Lynn, Claire Morgan, Paulo Paes, Sergio Vega, Roberto de Villacis & united alien artists.
International concern for the problems linked to the environment has grown considerably. And, as with all major
changes throughout history, art forms have evolved accordingly. Artists seize hold of these questions and illustrate
the new relationships society has with nature. Ever-changing artistic scenes develop and strive to stimulate our collective
consciousness.
“The idea behind the exhibition is to shake up the consciousness a little. I hope to inspire the public by, if not providing
ideas, at least showing some directions that can be taken through these socially engaged works of art-showing something
of what is going on around us” explains Judith Greve.
Karsten Greve Gallery gets involved by inviting ten artists from very different backgrounds, to come show their work
in Paris. This exhibition will also serve as a platform for international organizations like Global Ocean, Adventure
Ecology, Orphan Aid Africa and will then travel to Karsten Greve Galleries in Germany and Switzerland.
The exhibition presents works in a broad range of mediums, from photography and drawing to sculpture and video.
It will also include works specifically conceived for the exhibition that are relevant to the theme.
