Docks Art Fair 2011 WITH THE LYON INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR
Created in 2007 by gallery owners Olivier and Patricia Houg, Docks Art Fair is the only biennial fair devoted to solo shows by contemporary artists. This monograph focus is coupled with a unique artistic approach, in an accessible, friendly environment.
Docks Art Fair has entrusted this event’s media campaign to Communic’Art.
2011, the year of consecration
Following the extremely successful 2009 event, the 3rd Docks Art Fair will welcome, from September 13th to 18th, 30 internationally renowned Frenchand foreign galleries. Ideally located on the exceptional site of the Esplanade de la Sucrière, in the very heart of the Confluence district in Lyon, this young fair is part of a dynamic regional network of institutions dedicated to contemporary art (Lyon MAC, Villeurbanne IAC, le Magasin in Grenoble…)
The friendly yet passionate spirit of Docks Art Fair, far from the great events in Paris, attracts an audience of major collectors and international professionals from the art world, as well as amateurs and novices who enjoy the special didactic approach and the accessibility of the gallery owners and artists. As the first fair in September and on the strength of the interest is has aroused in the art world, Docks Art Fair has found its place in the calendar of international art fairs and is now seen as THE essential event of the early autumn.
A prestigious selection committee
This year six new members will form the resolutely international selection committee for Docks Art Fair:

- Barbara Polla, Director of the Analix Forever Gallery (Switzerland)
- Richard Leydier, Editor-in-chief of Art Press magazine

- Pascal Neveux, Director the FRAC Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Re Rebaudengo Foundation (Italy)
An event held in parallel to the Lyon Contemporary Art Biennial
Docks Art Fair will take place during the inaugural week of the 11th Lyon Contemporary Art Biennial, to be held from September 15th to December 31st, 2011. Two professionals only days have been planned to enable the press and art professionals to discover jointly these two unique artistic events.
