Galerie Templon: THE EXHIBITION CATALOGUE FOR PIERRE ET GILLES IS AVAILABLE ONLINE
Communic’Art has created a catalogue for the Pierre et Gilles exhibition “Le temps imaginaire” presented by Galerie Templon at its Paris spaces from 13 January to 10 March 2018.
This monographic catalogue brings together unseen artworks exhibited at 30 rue Beaubourg and Impasse Beaubourg in Paris.
“Le temps imaginaire” brings together the artists’ portraits, mixing personalities from history as well as fictional characters - Lucrèce Borgia, Bluebeard, Mowgli – and religious figures such as the Madonna or Krishna, the different faces of the contemporary world are equally represented, from a soldier on sentinel watch to the stars of K pop.
The artworks shown in the exhibition are put into context alongside already emblematic works from the past four years – such as the French “Marianne” and the portrait of musician Stromae.
Among the anonymous and famous models, we meet Isabelle Huppert, Béatrice Dalle, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Dita Von Teese…
With a preface by Charles Dantzig, and accompanying text by Arthur Dreyfus, this monograph proposes a new vision of the mysterious world of Pierre et Gilles: a timeless universe overlapping current events, peopled by hybrid icons; culture’s men or women meeting together, adding eternal youth and nostalgia, sometimes with a dash of tears of bliss or sadness.
