From May 19 to May 22, 2011, the 3rd edition of NOMADES will explore the roots of creation in the Haut Marais in Paris.

Art galleries, artists’ workshops, design studios, museums, cultural landmarks and places of knowledge… 210 creative professionnals will welcome visitors during four days to share intimate moments of dialogue around art and creation.

The Mairie de Paris (3rd district) has entrusted the press campaign to Communic’Art.

Initiated in 2009 by Paris 3rd district, NOMADES offers the general public a unique opportunity to go to the bottom of creation, by meeting the creative artists and professionals who make the Haut Marais’ artistic fame and cultural dynamism.

More than 210 participants split between 3 paths

During four days, Nomades invites us to embark on a creative journey, strolling around Paris’ 3rd district.

Corresponding to the three types of participants, three different paths have been drawn, through which the public will discover the multiple stages of the creation process:

• Trail #1: Creative places (art galleries, fashion and design show rooms…)

• Trail #2: Meet the creative artists (artists’ studios, craftmen’s workshops)

• Trail #3: Cultural landmarks and places of knowledge (museums, cultural centres, places of worship, gardens…)

The 3rd district community is proud to offer visitors these intimate encounters with creation as well asmany activities and events that will bring a festive touch to these days - performances, demonstrations, guided tours…

In total, more than 200 creative professionnals from the neighbourhood volunteer for Nomades and open their world to the public, making art and creation accessible to all.

The Art Galleries Night, Nomades’ highlight on May 19th

Highlight of this 3rd edition, the evening of May 19th will be dedicated to the neighbourhood’s art galleries, which will remain open

till late to allow for longer visits. On this occasion, art galleries will host special eventssuch as private viewings, public readings, music performances…

A unique rendez-vous with creation

Held in high repute by the art industry, Paris’ 3rd district holds an amazing cultural vitality. The Haut Marais neighbourhood is home to

countless art galleries, artists’ studios and cultural places. Since 2009, Nomades helps make visible these unique places who contribute to the area’s creative dynamism, artistic avant-garde and excellence.

By reflecting the Haut Marais’ diversity of talents, Nomades values all forms of creation (fine arts, fashion, design…) and nurtures the relationship between creative artists and their audience.
