Fragilités & Résiliences is a photographic exhibition and Thibault Gerbaldi’s first solo exhibition in France. Presented outdoors on the railings of the Jardin du Luxembourg from March 21 to July 19, 2026, it brings together 80 photographs taken across five continents.

Icebergs breaking apart, shifting dunes, glacial rivers reshaping deltas, volcanic landscapes, coastlines and islands shaped by time: the landscapes on display reveal a nature in constant transformation. These transitional forms reflect continuous cycles of evolution, where change unfolds within a broader continuity.

Confronted with these natural metamorphoses, the exhibition highlights human resilience. Gestures, practices, rituals, and know-how from cultures facing climatic, social, and demographic upheavals testify to a profound capacity for adaptation — whether rooted in ancestral craftsmanship, ecological adaptation, or spiritual pursuit.

Far from any search for exoticism, Thibault Gerbaldi’s images portray ways of life, knowledge, and forms of belonging that create enduring connections between human beings and their environments. They question the notion of vulnerability, often associated with these communities, and instead reveal their strength in ingenuity, transmission, and endurance — physical, cultural, and spiritual alike.
