Available in bookstores on April 9, the catalogue of the exhibition featuring the 80 photographs by Thibault Gerbaldi displayed on the Sénat railings at the Jardin du Luxembourg, created by Communic'Art
Thibault Gerbaldi entrusted Communic’Art with the design and production of the catalogue for the exhibition Fragilités & Résiliences, which presents 80 of his most striking photographs on the railings of the Jardin du Luxembourg from March 21 to July 19, 2026.
Spanning 200 pages in a large-format hardcover bilingual French-English edition, this beautiful publication opens with an editorial by Gérard Larcher, President of the Sénat, and a foreword by REZA, patron of the exhibition, before giving voice to the artist through an original interview. The book presents the exhibition’s 80 photographs in full-page format, each accompanied by a contextual text.
A self-taught photographer and passionate traveler, Thibault Gerbaldi is recognized for telling authentic and emotionally charged stories through images, working closely with communities and territories often far removed from public attention. His award-winning work spans cultures and landscapes from Greenland to India, at the crossroads of documentary, travel, and portrait photography.
Conceived as a visual and reflective journey, the catalogue brings together images captured across five continents, where transforming landscapes and human gestures echo one another. Fracturing icebergs, shifting dunes, glacial deltas, and volcanic terrains compose a world in constant transformation, while the cultures inhabiting these environments demonstrate a remarkable capacity for adaptation.
Page after page, Thibault Gerbaldi’s photographs invite readers to reconsider vulnerability — not as weakness, but as a source of ingenuity, transmission, and resilience. The book extends the experience of the exhibition by offering a space for contemplation and reflection, where each reader can pursue their own interpretation of the ties connecting humanity and its environment.
