FROM 15 OCTOBER TO 29 NOVEMBER 2015
Introduced in 2009 by the European Studio Glass Art Association (ESGAA), the International Glass Biennale is one of the major events of the contemporary art world calendar in glass where crafts, design and architecture merge.
The sixth edition of this must-see event will be held from 15 October to 29 November 2015 in the city of Strasbourg and throughout the Alsace-Lorraine region with 18 different exhibitions, taking place in 18 different locations: public sites, museums, galleries or ephemeral spaces.
An international ambition held at the crossroads of Europe, with particular attention given to the city of Prague. Nearly 60 artists represented, from Chagall to Buren and through to a new generation of artists highlighted by the “Glass & Architecture” competition: Thierry Boissel (France), David Magán (Spain), Jean-Paul Raymond (France) and Jenny Trinks (Germany).

UNTIL 29 NOVEMBER WITHIN THE CONTEXT OF THE CATHEDRAL'S MILLENNIAL CELEBRATIONS
Ahead of the Biennale’s opening and within the context of the Cathedral’s millennial celebrations, the European Studio Glass Art Association presents an exhibition at the Palais Rohan from 25 June to 29 November. In accordance with the “Glass & Architecture” competition, this exhibition displays artworks from Thierry Boissel, David Magán, Jenny Trinks and Jean-Paul Raymond.
Each one in their own style, the four artists make use of translucent or colored glass to celebrate the eternal light, reflecting this year’s theme: “Lux Aeterna”.
EUROPEAN STUDIO GLASS ART ASSOCIATION'S
INTERNATIONAL GLASS BIENNALE
Under the initiative of the European Studio Glass Art Association (ESGAA), this event highlights artistic glass in all its different forms: design, decorative arts, architecture, sculpture and photography.
Orginially reserved for decorative and functional purposes, glass has become in a few decades an unavoidable medium for contemporary art conception. The challenge of this Biennale lies in the creation of a real artistic synergy around glass, both for amateurs and professionals.
