Philippe Pastor : EXHIBITION 'IS THE WORLD SERIOUS' ON UNTIL 4 OCTOBER
Artist Philippe Pastor presents a solo show entitled "Is this world serious?" from 24 July to 4 October, 2020 at the Museum of Arts and History of Bormes Les Mimosas in the Provence-Alpes-Cote-d’Azur region of the South of France. This monograph unveils a series of paintings and sculptures emblematic of his creation.
Deeply committed to the protection of the environment for many years, Philippe Pastor has developed an artistic practice based on environmental awareness. The main concerns addressed in his works are ocean pollution and the damage caused by wildfires, a direct consequence of global warming.
The artist strives to transmit this message through his works by the use of organic pigments and materials, letting them live and mutate in reaction to the natural elements.
Through this exhibition, Philippe Pastor questions the destructive human impact on the environment and warns us about the urgency of the situation, highlighted by the recent health crisis due to Covid-19. He unveils a personal vision of nature and aims to reflect our interactions with the planet. By doing so, he is calling out to each of us and challenging the role we play in today's society and the role we could play in tomorrow’.
