"RÉSONANCE", A SOLO-SHOW OF Bruno Moinard ON VIEW AT 31, RUE JACOB, IN PARIS FROM DEC. 15 TO JAN. 19, 2022
The interior designer Bruno Moinard, founder of the Studio Moinard Betaille, presents "Résonance", an exhibition of his personal paintings at the Bruno Moinard Editions Gallery from December 16th, 2021 to January 8th, 2022. The opening will take place on December 15th at 5pm.
Interior architect, designer, scenographer and agency designer, Bruno Moinard escapes from the rigor and precision necessary to these multiple professions by painting, which he practices without constraints. This creative energy, essential to his equilibrium, is released as he travels around the world, in paintings and gouaches that are neither travel reports nor picturesque landscapes, but testimonies of a sensation, the survival of a light or a spectacle. In these recreations of memory, certain elements of reality emerge: a museum piece, a piece of furniture or an animal, the cliffs of Normandy. What he has in front of his eyes is transformed into abstract forms, widely brushed, resulting from a free and mastered gesture, from a jubilant use of color and light, which restore, like so many sensors of sensitivity, the essence of his perception.
"Resonance
Don't look at the title of the painting right away.
Let yourself be impressed and check only afterwards.
What if it were like this, a keyboard, black boats, a greenhouse, a workshop, a painting by Delacroix? What if this is how one should imagine eternity? Yes. Obviously. Because Bruno Moinard imagines things. Things are what we feel about them. Things are what is hidden behind them, around them. Things answer each other. Resonance.
The painting of Bruno Moinard is evocative. It testifies to a rare balance between the representation and the emotion, always in a volume that the architect that he is knows so well
to order. He makes you enter a space that he lives in, where you are always welcome.
His vision of reality, his invincible fondness for colors, his science of light, his acute sense of matter, his tenderness for Normandy, which he has captured, like Maupassant, a light air, a powerful fragrance, a secret, all resound here in concert. Things enter him by capillarity, by a thousand sensitive ways. And then he restores them, in a lively gesture, with a bit of echo, of reverberation.
Resonance.
Bruno Moinard's powerful oils take you on an immobile but never frozen journey. Something is happening and you are the witness. Let yourself be taken along in a wandering without coding, striking, which resonates in you."
