The French Delegation of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation has entrusted Communic'Art with the production of its 2023 institutional brochure. This document presents all the actions and programs designed and implemented by the delegation to promote Portuguese artists in France and Europe.

 

The Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, a Portuguese institution working on behalf of all humanity, seeks to promote knowledge and improve the quality of life through the arts, charity, knowledge and science, for a more just, sustainable and plural world.

 

Located in the heart of Paris, the international artistic capital, the Delegation in France has become a base of influence for the Foundation in France and in Europe.

 

The Délégation en France is a natural extension of the Foundation's activities. Rooted in the French cultural and institutional fabric for nearly 60 years, it has developed an original strategy in three areas: Culture, Social and Democracy.

 

Within the framework of its missions, the Delegation develops year after year projects that are sustainable and innovates by exploring new fields of action.

 

The Delegation in France deploys a vast array of actions throughout the country, demonstrating the interest of institutions and private cultural initiatives.

 

Its actions take the form of the co-production of exhibitions, an annual call for projects intended for French institutions wishing to present Portuguese artists in their programming, the organization of meetings and debates, partnerships with civil society organizations and the provision of the largest Portuguese-speaking library in the world, outside of Portugal and Brazil. More than 30 projects were supported in 2022, with many more to come in 2023.

 

Accelerating its strategy of support for artists and creators, and of co-production with institutions and reference organizations, the Delegation is committed to a wide range of actions in 2023.

 

In order to offer new audiences and concrete outlets for Portuguese artists in France, the Delegation is developing two residency programs.

 

In keeping with the Foundation's democratic vocation, the Delegation is associated with institutions and think tanks in order to play a full part in the debate on the major issues of our time.
